About Cherry Street Studios

Bio. Photographers Bill Kostelec Ph.D., and Kathy Kostelec

While most of the world is following the digital camera craze, Bill and Kathy Kostelec believe that nothing quite compares to the beauty of a black and white image captured on a large piece of film. Their big old cameras have accompanied them to Alaska, to the deserts of Utah, and to the streets of Spokane where they reside. When they aren’t carrying their big cameras and tripods around they will likely be found with their 35mm film cameras strapped around their necks.

Bill has worked as a Photographer/Graphic Artist and teacher at Gonzaga University since 1992. He has a PhD in Religion from Emory University and has taught numerous classes in Religion as well as Photography including Principles of Photographic Art and Advanced Printmaking and Alternative Processes. Bill and Kathy are founding members of the Gonzaga University Photography Club and both are past presidents. Kathy has been shooting in black and white since her first photography class in 1996. She currently operates their home studio, Cherry Street Studios, where she does photography, custom framing, custom printing and photo restoration.
