2012 Update:

The year has started out busy as ever here at little Cherry Street Studios as we continue to mine our negatives, print, and fill our home studio with images of Spokane as well as other places and people.  Our 2nd annual open house last December was another fun and successful event with lots of visitors and print sales.  Perhaps most importantly was the encouragement we received from so many to continue to pull old negatives and print, print, print.  And while we continue to pull old negatives we continue to shoot new ones wherever we are.  We will stay closer to home this year with our travels and add to our collection of images from the scablands and coulees of eastern Washington – the path of the Great Missoula Flood.

Coming up we have been invited to display images as part of a multi-photographer exhibit at Spokane’s Chase Gallery located in City Hall in July 2012.  We have also joined Spokane Preservation Advocates and hope that in some small way we can contribute to the awareness and preservation of Spokane’s history and heritage.

In our 1st Gallery are images of the now demolished art deco period Rookery Building and images of the Jensen Byrd building which is in line to be torn down in the near future.  Please check out the Spokane Preservation Advocates website if you are interested in learning more about this organization and its goal to “maintain and improve Spokane’s historic character by preserving our heritage and advocating for renovation of hsitoric properties while encouraging outstanding, compatible new development.”   http://spokanepreservation.org/
